O ring factory supplier in China: Basics of fluid pump sealing – A mechanical seal is simply a method of containing fluid within a vessel (typically pumps, mixers, etc.) where a rotating shaft passes through a stationary housing or occasionally, where the housing rotates around the shaft. When sealing a centrifugal pump, the challenge is to allow a rotating shaft to enter the ‘wet’ area of the pump, without allowing large volumes of pressurized fluid to escape. To address this challenge there needs to be a seal between the shaft and the pump housing that can contain the pressure of the process being pumped and withstand the friction caused by the shaft rotating. The gap between the faces on a typical seal is as little as 1 micron – 75 times narrower than a human hair. Because the gap is so tiny, particles that would otherwise damage the seal faces are unable to enter, and the amount of liquid that leaks through this space is so small that it appears as vapor – around ½ a teaspoon a day on a typical application. Mechanical seals are engineered for most pumps, mixer and agitator applications in maintenance. In many cases the designs have been proven to be workhorses over years of use. In others seals must be designed for evolving industrial demands. The basic rotating face mechanical seal design is adaptable to serve a wide range of sealing applications including compressors. Standard mechanical seals can suit most requirements to temperatures of 500 degrees F and shaft speeds to 3600 RPM. The selection of secondary seal type often determines the temperature and chemical capabilities of the seal. The combination of materials used in the rotating and stationary faces define the abrasive resistance, and chemical resistance. Seal face combinations will also determine the amount of energy consumed by the pump, mixer, agitator or compressor. Seal faces can be balanced to permit higher pressure sealing. Balanced seals can seal pressures above 200 psi, or used in a multiple stages for higher pressures or especially severe fluid services. Special mechanical seals can be furnished to meet the most demanding of industrial applications considering pressure, temperature, speed or fluid.
Although construction machinery looks extremely complex, the common characteristics that can be summarized are: Usually work outdoors. The work site often changes, and some can move by themselves. The working environment is usually dusty or stained. Nowadays, construction machinery generally adopts hydraulic transmission, because hydraulic transmission has the following obvious advantages compared with mechanical transmission: The power-to-volume ratio is large and the location arrangement is easy. It can realize stepless speed change. It is easy to realize overload protection. Less shock, vibration and noise.
The O-ring seal, which is also called shaft seal, is noted for a reasonable compression and stretch rate to achieve a good sealing effect. It will not leak when it is sealed statically. At the same time, the O-ring size is properly matched to the groove size. The structure is simple and its installation is very close to the machine. Its most prominent advantage is its self-sealing effect, eliminating the need for periodic adjustments. We guarantee that the size and mounting grooves of all our O-rings are standardized, so they are cost-effective and easy to maintain. They have low frictional resistance and are suitable for occasions where the pressure is often alternating.
Sealing performance over conventional O-rings is achieved by reducing particle generation, extending seal life and minimizing replacement time during preventive maintenance. Compared to traditional O-rings, this seal effectively reduces the number of dust particles generated during operation and extends the life of the machine with bonded seals installed. The seal has a working diameter range of 6.5 to 60.58mm.
Our piston seals are designed to provide excellent leak control. We guarantee that it can perfectly meet the user’s requirements for low friction, compactness, precise configuration and simple installation. It is designed for fluid power applications. It is made of compound materials with high performance, which guarantees excellent wear resistance and excellent extrusion resistance for the seal. It is designed to be suitable for almost all fluid media and is highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. It has excellent dynamic and static sealing performance and can even work under dusty industrial environments. Moreover, it has strong adaptability to various working conditions and can adapt to a fast, high-pressure working environment. At the same time, it has unparalleled performance in extreme temperature environments.
Gasket sealing mechanism: The function of the gasket is caused by the blocking effect on the internal medium formed by the contact pressure of the sealing material on the joint surface and the elastic restoring force to the external tightening force. Classification and structure of gaskets: Gaskets are divided into three categories: non-metallic gaskets, non-metallic and metal combined gaskets and metal gaskets. The common materials are rubber, leather, asbestos board, cork, PTFE, tinplate, steel, aluminum, copper and stainless steel.
